Pyroxmangite (rare huge Japanese xl)

A very rare specimen, perhaps the most rare and important in this auction in some time.... This huge crystal would be large for the species from any locality, but particularly for this old Japanese classic locale. It is of incredible size. I believe it to be twinned, as you can see from the unusual habit. When backlit, it is translucent and looks more gemmy and red. Valued at $1500-2000, we believe this to be a significant example of the species and ancient locale. from an old european collection
