Pyroxmangite

Item Description

Pyroxmangite is the high-pressure, low-temperature polymorph of Rhodonite, both manganese silicates. This piece, composed of bladed to massive Pyroxmangite, shows the deep, partially-gemmy red that makes both species well-known, and desired. The translucence is good where the crystals are well-developed, and the largest partial crystal reaches about 3.5 cm. A very good, representative Pyroxmangite from what is certainly the best of the Brazilian locations.
