Pyroxene with Pyrite (ex Rich Kosnar and Pat Gross Collections)

Item Description

This piece came labeled as originally coming from "Hardystonville", NJ, more properly Hardyston Township, which today surrounds the borough of Franklin, but was once separate prior to incorporation of Franklin Borough in 1913. I would label the piece as coming from Franklin with a note that it was originally labeled as "Hardystonville". This piece features micro, greenish Pyroxene crystals with metallic Pyrite on matrix. The piece came to Rich Kosnar from his mentor, noted New Jersey collector {Frances} Patricia "Pat" Gross, and her original mounting box accompanies the piece. A cool specimen of this classic material.
