Item Description

A rarely locality specimen for Pyrophyllite, here we have an attractive small cabinet specimen featuring thin, prismatic, golden to reddish-pink colored crystals forming radial "sprays" on all sides of the piece. It's worth noting that a lot of the Pyrophyllite in the world is found in less than desirable / dull colors, and this rich material from the Indian Gulch Mine is very desirable in terms of color. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9292). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
