Item Description
An incredibly rare micro association specimen featuring soft yellow-green Pyromorphite associated with a handful of sharp, lustrous, pyramidal, golden-orange colored crystals of Stolzite. As mentioned this is a micro specimen as the Stolzite crystals are about 1 mm across. It should be noted that this piece came labeled as Pyromorphite with Stolzite from the "Gewerkschaft Mine", in Wölsendorf, but Stolzite has not been reported from Wölsendorf, although Wulfenite has been reported, so these crystals could actually be Wulfenite. The only locality in Bavaria that I could find where Stolzite has been reported is the Steinerleinbach Quarry in Freyung-Grafenau. It's impossible to differentiate Stolzite from Wulfenite without chemical analysis, so we're leaving it as Stolzite for the purpose of this listing, but if anybody has any additional information about this piece, please let us know. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3904). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
