Item Description

A seldom seen specimen of the elusive and beautiful green Pyromorphites from the Hardshell Mine in the Patagonia Mountains of Arizona. This piece features dozens of vitreous, beautiful yellow-green colored botryoidal spheres of Pyromorphite which are associated with sparkling dark chocolate brown Descloizite on a bit of oxidized matrix. The piece is best seen under magnification, and we've included a few micro photos to better illustrate the quality. A must have specimen for any fan of secondary ore minerals, worldwide Pyromorphites or minerals from Arizona. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
