Item Description

Hexagonal prisms of lustrous, translucent, yellow-green pyromorphite to 4 mm are richly and attractively clustered and scattered on the hefty matrix, which includes LOTS of snowflake cerussite blades. This excellent and very uncommon for the locale combination piece is from the 1980s finds at the famous San Andres Mine of Spain. A painted label on the back of the piece says Jumilla, Spain, but MINDAT lists neither species for that locale. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. His collection recently became available to us through his family. Hefty, very rich lead ore. Weighs 252 grams.
