Pyromorphite var. Arsenian (ex. Jack Halpern)

Item Description

Juicy rich orange, translucent botryoids of arsenian pyromorphite form a very aesthetic and sculptural miniature from the famous early 1980s finds at the renowned Bunker Hill Mine. The Bunker Hill mine is a famous lead-zinc-silver mine that produced some of the finest Pyromorphite specimens from the Western Hemisphere. The mine operated for a century (closing forever in 1988), and fine quality specimens of the rare orange variety such as this one are difficult to obtain on the market now. THEY ONLY CAME OUT ONCE, and then everything else was other colors, leaving the orange arsenic-rich variety as the hardest to obtain today, nearly 40 years later. Ex. Jack Halpern collection (#3173).
