Item Description

Burke area mines are not far from the famous Bunker Hill Mine, which has produced so many world class pyromorphites. They are distinct, with pyromorphites that look different than Bunker Hill, however, and specimens from the area are uncommon. The lustrous, olive-green, tapered spindles to 1.0 cm are of a color totally unlike any Bunker Hill pyromorphites we have seen. Crystals richly cover the front of the quartz-rich matrix on this old-timer, probably from the 1950s or 60s. The hand-painted label on the back confirms the locality. Ex Whitmore Collection.
