Item Description

A truly magnificent large pyromorphite crystal from Les Farges and the Grant Gibson and Ralph Clark Collections (by exchange). This unique "horn of plenty" doubly terminated crystal has incredible hoppering on both sides. The crystal is huge for Les Farge, comparable to Bunker Hill crystals. The colors are also decidedly unusual. The classic apple-green coats the tips and some of the prism faces of the highly lustrous, partially translucent, honey-brown crystals. The bottom termination tapers to a point and is orange! A quote from a writeup with the piece: "One of very few miniatures in the collection, but equal in every way to the exacting perfection of his thumbnails!" The shape reminds me of a super Bad Ems pyromorphite. Value of this superb and large pyromorphite crystal from a well-known thumbnail collector? We feel $1750-2000.
