Item Description
An exceptional, colorful and rare style of pyromorphite from the famed early 2000s finds at the Daoping Mine. Gorgeous, juicy, rich apple-green tapered spindles comprise this beautifully sculptural solid crust. This is about the richest, lushest and rarest green hue you will see from the myriad of varietals from Daoping and the tapered prism style is rare. The green hue matches the famed apple-green Les Farges pyromorphites and these pieces are often confused for Les Farges pyros! The prisms reach 1.2 cm on this stunning, pristine multi-sided small cabinet. Ex Steve Smale Collection, one of the great mineral connoisseurs of our time. Steve only collects the best and this certainly qualifies. I obtained this in a large trade with Steve over 10 years ago. He valued it at $1200 at that time when they were still more or less contemporary. Today this rare style beauty is worth $3000-5000 depending on whose showcase and what show you see it in...they ARE still quite unique amongst the other styles.
