Pyromorphite stalactite (rare)

A fantastic and rare 360-degree pyromorphite stalactite from the early 2000s finds at the famous Daoping Mine. The stalk is dramatically studded on all sides with juicy, translucent, greenish-yellow tapered spindles, to a large 2.0 cm. The attached protruding cluster at the base is a dramatic accent. Most of these exquisite crystals have secondary overgrowths of tiny pyromorphites, adding pizzazz and an additional sculptural aspect. Both ends of the hollow stalk are remarkable, as their interiors are lined with tiny pyromorphite prisms! Ex Dr. Steve Smale Collection. Steve is one this eras greatest mineral collectors and is also a world-class mathematician. He was based at Hong Kong University when these came out and ended up having so many of the best specimens in the 1990s and 2000s.
