Item Description
An aesthetic, RARE, pyromorphite varietal from a very small, one-time find at the famous Les Farges Mine of France. This cutie looks like Bunker Hill material, but it is not. The gorgeous, "wet-look", translucent, lime-green barrels have striking yellow terminations! The largest crystal is 1.0 cm. This is only the third Les Farges pyromorphite of this very unusual variety, that I have handled. They are VERY RARE! The first is illustrated in the Sothebys catalogue of the Joseph Freilich Collection (2001, page 108), the second now proudly resides in my collection (Karl Warning - obtained at the 2009 Munich Show and confirmed by the Curator of the Sorbonne) and this is the third, a perfect match in color and form. If you do not know wha tto look for, you would swear these to be the juiciest yellow-green xls from Bunker Hill, but on unusual white quartzy matrix (that is indicative of Les Farges!). A superb thumbnail, competition level rarity, from the Carlton Davis Collection valued $400
