Item Description
RARE, large and sculptural pyromorphite on quartz from a most obscure North Carolina locale - the Pluton Prospect in Cabarrus County. Three different pyromorphite forms and colors are noted on this impressive rarity: 1) sparkly, druzy yellow-green covers most of the piece; 2) scattered patches of tiny, lustrous, translucent, hexagonal, oil-green prisms; and 3) a 1.2 cm patch of forest-green pyromorphite at the top of the piece. MINDAT does not list the Pluton Prospect, but we trust the labels here as he was a phenomenal expert.
