Item Description

Pyromorphite from the historic mines at Roughton Gill is a signature and desirable English classic. Juicy, translucent, apple-green prisms, to about 1.0 cm, are richly and aesthetically clustered on the cellular quartz matrix. A few crystals have a spectacular cavernous/hoppered look. Lead mining effectively ceased in Roughton Gill in 1876, with only a few specimens found since, so this is probably a real old-timer. From an East Coast collection. Valued at $1000-1250 for richness, color and quality.
