Item Description

A very beautiful, sparkling pyromorphite from this old classic location in France. Small crystals form a carpet over quartz points, here. This is a rather richly covered specimen for the material! It has a soft moss-green color that is strong and yet not as dark as the usual color from here, more light and "velvety" in appearance than others. The pyromorphite overgrows quartz, as you can see when you turn it around. You can imagine how few such pieces might have survived! This is specimen #2767 out of the 5000 or so specimens in the Jack Halpern collection, donated to the Symposium auction. Beautiful from many angles, this should be valued at least $2000-2500. Old material probably from the 1960s, or early 1970s era here.
