Item Description

Attractive combination piece highlighted by a sea of tiny lustrous apple-green Pyromorphite hexagonal crystals set against a contrasting layer of dark green botryoidal Malachite. The combination is instantly recognizable from the Australian location of Brown's Prospect at Rum Jungle. It comes from the 2010 "Pizza Pocket". The back is completely covered with Pyromorphite, however the color changes to a yellow-green to tan. The piece has a sculptural form with rolling knobs of high luster sparkle. Using a hand lens for magnification, the millimeter sized crystals are distinctive and sharp showing mostly vertical crystals with flat terminations but also numerous double terminated crystals. A classic Pyromorphite on Malachite combination from the very limited material available from Rum Jungle. Ex. Bob Reynolds Collection from Paul Melville.
