Item Description

A dramatically sculptural and rich large pyromorphite from this renowned locale. Juicy, translucent, two-toned, pyromorphite prisms and spindles are festooned on all sides of the amazing matrix of etched limonite blades. The pyros have honey-brown bodies with nifty yellow-green terminations. Some crystals are doubly termimated, including the largest, at about 1.2 cm. The December, 2009 issue of the French periodical, Le Regne Mineral, is devoted entirely to this noted locale and is filled with photgraphs of fabulous Les Farges pyromorphites. This would fit right in! Valued at $2500-3000 for crystal richness, quality, size and unusual combination form. Multiple display views. From an East Coast collection. The mine closed in 1981. Specimens of this size and quality are almost never seen on the market today!
