Item Description
"Wet-look", translucent, light brown pyromorphite barrels to 1.3 cm fully line a sculptural vug in SOLID bladed cerussite matrix. This is a classic Ems District pyromorphite of very fine combination quality. The famous Friedrichssegen Mine closed in 1913 and this exceptional piece certainly dates to the 19th century. Some of the crystals are hoppered and all are in excellent shape. Another pyro-lined vug on one side is a bonus! Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Very rich lead ore, hefty for its size at 220 grams. A fine spiker for this auction. Valued at $1200-1500 easily at shows and well worth it - I have seen lesser quality for 1000-2000 euros at the Munich show
