Pyromorphite on Baryte (classic locale)

Lustrous, oxide-tinted, brownish-olive pyromorphite prisms are festooned atop the baryte matrix wedge on this dramatic, rich and excellent small cabinet from this famous mine. Some of the crystals are very stout and reach 1.6 cm. They also have the desirable hoppered terminations. The cores of the broken crystals on the top reveal that the crystals are olive-green. The piece has several fine display views, where the damaged crystals are strongly minimized. This world-class pyromorphite locale produced a dizzying variety of excellent specimens prior to its closing in 1981. Choice material valued at $2000.
