Item Description

The old Pb-Ag-Cu mines at Zschopau are the Type Locality (1813) for pyromorphite. An impressive and sculptural cluster of translucent green to golden-yellow terminated prisms is aesthetically set on the mostly bladed baryte matrix. The dominating large crystals is about 2.5 cm long. Parts of the prism faces are being pseudomorphed or are coating by galena, adding character and interest. This striking two-sided cluster is pristine and the noted periphery wear certainly has minimal impact on this fine old classic. Ex Dr. Mark Feinglos Collection and comes with an over 100-year old German label. Valued at $1000.
