Item Description

Pyromorphite specimens of this richness and quality are RARE from this ancient copper mine, worked by the Romans and then intermittently from 1611-1872! Lustrous, moderately translucent, chocolate-brown to brown, prisms to 1.6 cm (doubly terminated) are festooned on three sides of the starkly contrasting mounded matrix. For such crystal richness, there are very few broken crystals on this outstanding old-timer. Earl Calvert was a prominent California collector who died in 1964. Value?? We believe in the $1000 range.
