Item Description

A classic old time specimen of the famous Pyromorphites from the Beihilfe Mine featuring hundreds of tiny, thin hexagonal prisms and pseudo-spherical groups with a gorgeous glowing apple green color sitting on Quartz matrix. The label accompanying the piece says that Cerussite is present on the specimen, but I can't find any actual Cerussite crystals with a loupe. This piece is best viewed under magnification, as the little Pyromorphite crystals are quite beautiful up close. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12875). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020. See the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record ( https://www.mineralogicalrecord.com/pdfs/Kay%20Robertson%20Collection.pdf ), and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017.
