Item Description

A wonderful old-time specimen of Pyromorphite, a lead phosphate from the famed Leadhills of Scotland! The listings on mindat.org suggests that this piece could be from a few different localities, and I'm no expert on this material, so I will simply leave it as coming from the Leadhills area. This piece features sparkling micro crystals yellow-green Pyromorphite, which can be seen on multiple sides of the underlying matrix. Best viewed under magnification, and we've photogaphed the piece with a macro lens to better illustrate the quality. A really cool specimen from one of the great old lead-zinc districts in all of Europe.
