Item Description
Pyromorphite is an uncommon and highly desirable species from the historic mines at Pribram. Lustrous, sharp, hexagonal, olive-green barrels, to 5 mm, are nicely clustered on the iron oxide-coated quartz matrix on this showy, excellent and highly representative old-timer. This 100+ year-old classic piece comes with a 1800s label and was formerly in the Hermann Kraft Collection (found before 1900). Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 8136 and acquired from the Cisneros' in 1977. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
