Item Description
A striking, highly scuptural, old-time pyromorphite from this renowned locale. Highly lustrous, translucent, two-toned brown barrels to 1.1 cm comprise to dramatic piece. This solid, two-sided pyromorphite crust looks like a dinosaur with stickle back plates and a knobby head or a dog in the horizonatal view. The bit of scattered bruising has very minimal impact to the quality and importance of this classic old-timer. From the collection of William Jefferis (1820-1906), noted older contemporary of Bement and Roebling (his label dates to the 1870s or early 80s). His collection was purchased by the Carnegie Museum in 1904. Ex Dr. Gary Hanson Pyromorphite Collection. Valued at $2000-2500 and worth it.
