Pyromorphite (old classic) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

There are many great localities in Germany for Pyromorphite, which can range in color from pinkish-brown to bright apple green. The pieces from Hofsgrund are rarely available on the market, and date back to the 1800s, This miniature specimen features small but beautiful bright green to rich green colored crystals of Pyromorphite measuring up to 3-4 mm on oxidized Quartz matrix. The tiny crystals are best viewed with a loupe or microscope, but they are fantastic to see up close, as they are textbook hexagonal prisms and some of them are WATER CLEAR. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2337). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
