Item Description
An old-time, very rich and showy specimen of lustrous, mustard-yellow, spherical aggregates and tapered spindles of pyromorphite completely encircling a stalactite of botryoidal hematite. It was labelled mimetite in the past but this is almost certainly pyromorphite, as such distinctions weren't easily made in 1845. This very fine specimen is from the historic mines of Cornwall, and is a real classic. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock and comes with a neat and OLD two-sided label : with an apparent August 25, 1845 date. A rare and colorful miniature from this famed locale. Valued at $750 .
