Item Description

Years ago, a friend told me that the Wheatley Mine(s) were Tsumeb before Tsumeb existed. The beautiful crystallized secondary ore minerals were rarely seen outside of this locality by most collectors of the time (the mine started in the 1850s). With that said, the most iconic species to come from Wheatley is the classic green Pyromorphites. This piece features fine quality, sharp, lustrous, prismatic, beautiful green color hexagonal crystals that can be seen on virtually all sides of this full-sized miniature specimen. VERY little damage that I can see with the naked eye, and certainly not common on the market now. The largest crystal measures 5 mm long. You don't see many of these on the market today, and they are beloved by East Coast collectors along with all fans of secondary ore minerals and worldwide Pyromorphite. Priced in the inventory at $1,250.
