Item Description

Rich fields of sprays of densely intergrown tiny, hexagonal, grass-green pyromorphite prisms and a couple of crystal balls aesthetically cover the oxide-coated quartz matrix on this excellent old-timer from this historic lead mining district. The juicy crystals glow with apple-green color under bright light. Primary ore production was from 1847-1854 with limited additional ore production from 1918-1920. We suspect this piece is from the old-time production. Classic, rich and desirable Phoenixville pyromorphite.
