Item Description
Scintillating gemmy bright green hexagonal pyromorphite prisms, to 5 mm, are attractively festooned in two vugs on the sculptural brecciated small cabinet quartz matrix. An excellent example of this varietal from the well-known early 2000s finds at the Yangshuo Mine, connected to the famous Daoping Mine and on the other side of the mountain. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12978 and acquired in the early 2000s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). These world-class pyromorphite mines have produced a dizzying variety of crystal colors and habits and this is a choice example of this uncommon varietal.
