Pyromorphite is a beautiful secondary ore species, and one of the most popular minerals for collectors. I must say that there are truly only a few places in the world that have produced excellent green Pyromorphites with any consistency over the years. In the modern age of mineral colleting, the finest contemporary green specimens are those from the Daoping Mine in China. The best of these specimens are simply as good as any other Pyromorphites from virtually any world locality. A source in China has told us that the area of the Daoping Mine that produced these pieces is finished and we may never see these superb Pyromorphites again unless a new area is opened up. This miniature sized piece features excellent quality, very sharp, lustrous, well-formed, prismatic hexagonal crystals of Pyromorphite with a lovely apple green hue. The crystals show the classic "hoppered" or skeletal habit commonly seen in Pyromorphite. My favorite aspect of the piece is that it's not only in excellent condition, but it's actually terminated on both ends, so it's really close to being a complete "floater".
