Item Description

This piece came labeled as Pyromorphite, but the species has not been reported from this locality. It very well could be Mimetite as I've seen other yellow crystals labels Mimetite from this locality - or possibly Vanadinite - but I'm not an expert on species from the Miner's Dream Mine, so this one is a bit of a mystery. With that said, small, sharp, well-formed, yellow prisms measuring up to about 2 mm can be seen nestled in the vug with what I believe to be colorless Willemite crystals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8923). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
