Item Description

Pear-green hexagonal microcrystalline pyromorphite prisms with hoppered terminations and starkly contrasting sparkly, translucent burnt-orange crocoite needles, to 6 mm, richly and dramatically cover the sculptural large gossan matrix plate on this fine and rich combination from the famous Dundas mineral field. The Platt Prospect is a small former underground Ag-Pb mine, that has recently been worked for mineral specimens, especially pyromorphite and crocoite pieces, such as this excellent and rich large combination. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum.
