Simply put, Les Farges is one of the premier localities in the world for Pyromorphite specimens. These are not only classics from France, but they are some of the most iconic examples of the species known. This piece is a great overall display specimen from this classic locality featuring golden-green to olive green colored hexagonal prisms sitting atop oxidized Barite matrix. Most of the Pyromorphite crystals are undamaged, but there are a few contacts I can see with the naked eye. The largest crystal measures 1.5 cm long. The pits sits wonderfully on its own without the aid of a base or clay, and the intricate three-dimensional form is extremely eye-catching A great piece for anybody who likes Pyromorphite, old classics from Europe or minerals of France. Valued at $2,500 in the inventory. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
