Item Description
This is a thin matrix plate of a classic Bunker Hill pyromorphite specimen featuring lustrous yellow-brown, perhaps arsenic-rich crystals with secondary pale-colored crystals that have recrystallized at the terminations. Pyromorphite, a common lead mineral, is typically found as crusts around relic galena or as infiltration products within the host rock or gangue. Interestingly, this specimen exhibits a completely different style, showcasing sharp, well-formed crystals rather than the more common spherical forms. Bright light accentuates the rich hues of the crystals, making this a particularly striking and showy piece from the 1990s finds. It’s a beautiful example of the classic pyromorphite style from this renowned locality. Ex Les Presmyk, Jingnan (Tom) Zhang.
