Item Description

Intergrown, stout, lustrous, translucent, bi-colored honey-brown with rich yellow terminations, pyromorphite prisms form a showy 360-degree minature from the famed Les Farges Mine. The large parallel-growth hexagonal prisms reach a large 3.0 cm. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 8029 and acquired from Galas Minerals at the 1976 MSSC Show, when these were first reaching the US market. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Classic style Les Farges pyromorphite with large crystals.
