Item Description

Light and dark olive-green pyromorphite prisms to 3 mm richly cover the quartz-rich gossan matrix on this showy old-timer from the less well-known Chester County Mine (according to its label) at Phoenixville. Primary ore production was from 1847-1854! Additional ore production took place from 1918-1920. I suspect this piece is from the late production, by the label on the back. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection and very rarely available material from this locale.
