Pyromorphite (classic locale)

A classic, very fine pyromorphite thumbnail from this famous mine, closed since 1981. Lustrous, tapered, honey-brown prisms with desirable mustard tips form an aesthetic stellate spray. The hoppered terminations really add pizzazz. The two sides are decidedly different! One side shows the hoppered, mustard-yellow tips, while the other shows the nifty stellate form. The December, 2009 issue of the French periodical, Le Regne Mineral, is devoted entirely to this noted locale and is filled with photographs of fabulous Les Farges pyromorphites.
