Item Description

Lustrous, tapering, olive-brown, pyromorphite crystals are festooned on the sculptural, undulating crust from the famous Les Farges Mine of France and the Howard Belsky Collection. The crystals on this excellent piece have the highly desirable hoppered terminations with mustard-colored tips and reach 1.0 cm. A few broken crystals are noted, but have very minimal impact on the overall quality and richness of this fine piece. CLASSIC material from this famous mine, that closed in 1981. The December, 2009 issue of the French periodical, le Regne Mineral, is devoted entirely to this noted locale and is filled with photgraphs of fabulous Les Farges pyromorphites. This would fit right in! A must for any pyromorphite collector! Valued$750
