Item Description

The Plumbogummites from the Yangshuo Mine are among the finest examples of the species ever found. They are sometimes associated with green Pyromorphite, but typically the Plumbogummite is sitting atop a previous generation of Fluorite so you can't see it very well. THIS piece however features a gorgeous, sculptural, layer of bubbly silvery-blue colored Plumbogummite (with individual spheres measuring up to 4 mm) which plays host to a few radial groups of beautiful yellow-green Pyromorphite measuring up to 1.7 cm across. Two of the Pyromorphite "balls" are completely pristine, while the third has a contacted edge that actually allows the viewer to see inside at how these groups formed. Overall there isn't much damage to speak of, and if you're familiar with this material you'll know that there are not many specimens from this locality with Pyromorphite ON Plumbogummite like this, let alone such attractive "balls" of Pyromorphite of noteworthy size. We had this one valued at $3,500 in the inventory.
