Pyromorphite

Very fine Pyromorphite specimen from the well-known Daoping Mine in China, almost certainly older finds in the early 2000s. The Pyros are a lovely apple-green color, and the luster on these 6 mm, hexagonal crystals is superb. Interestingly, and attractively, there is a prominent second habit in which slender needles of Pyromorphite grow in attractive and unusual sprays, and the combination of the two habits is really quite engaging. Yangshuo (where the recent plumbogummites and pyromorphite of another habit come from contemporarily) is probably a contiguous deposit with the famous Daoping Mine (the older locality, from which this comes).
