Item Description

Pyromorphites from Bad Ems are some of the most sought-after in the world, not only for their aesthetics but also the fact that virtually all the good ones were mined during the second half of the 1800's. This rich specimen has abundant, dark-brown Pyromorphites with good luster and excellent form. The main crystals range up to 8 mm, and the beveled terminations are either smooth or slightly hoppered, providing an interesting and appealing contrast in growth. Good quality Bad Ems Pyromorphites, like this attractive cabinet spcimen, are hard to come by. Originally procured from A. Berger of Vienna. These pieces are part of a century-old Italian collection that was recently acquired. Minor damage noted but acceptable in context.
