Pyromorphite

There are many classic localities around the world for Pyromorphite, but before the Daoping Mine started producing specimens, it had been at least a decade since anything major was found in terms of good green crystals. The best of these contemporary classic specimens are simply as good as any other Pyromorphites from virtually any world locality. We have been told from our source in China that the section of the Daoping Mine where these piece have been found is finished and we may never see these superb Pyromorphites again. This attractive miniature specimen has a gorgeous green color featuring sharp, distinct hexagonal prisms with slightly skeletal / "hoppered" faces sitting on a thin layer of gossan matrix. The largest crystal measures 6 mm long. For the most part, the piece is in very good shape, though some contacted areas can be seen upon close inspection.
