Item Description

A sculptural, rich and classic mounded crust of densely intergrown pyromorphite prisms from the famous early 2000s finds at the Daoping Mine. Sprays of desirable rich apple-green, lustrous, translucent, pyromorphite crystals comprise this solid crust. The crystals reach about 1.5 cm. Nearly all the of prisms have striking hoppered terminations (uncommon) and the contrasting preferential iron oxide inclusions and coatings add a dramatic aspect this very fine and showy 360-degree small cabinet specimen. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, for all of the crystal density. Two spots of barely noticeable smaller broken crystals in the interior have minimal impact to the superior quality of this highly desirable color varietal and form. The scalloped bottom of the piece adds much character. Daoping is one of the world's great pyromorphite localities and this is an excellent example of this sought-after varietal with 360-degree presence. Valued at $1500.
