Item Description

When it comes to Pyromorphite, the finest contemporary green specimens on the market are those from the Daoping Mine in China. The best of these specimens are simply as good as any other Pyromorphites from virtually any world locality. For reference, a source in China has told us that the section of the Daoping Mine that produced these pieces is finished and we may never see these superb Pyromorphites again. This small cabinet sized piece features sharp, well-formed, lustrous, prismatic hexagonal crystals that show only a slight skeletal / "hoppered" habit measuring up to 7 mm long on minor oxidized matrix. The color is wonderful for the species as it reminds me of the classic apple-green crystals from Les Farges, France. Very little damage, and fun to view up close. This piece came from a prominent Midwest collection that we acquired recently.
