Three generations of yellow-green pyromorphite crystals cover this rich and sculptural small cabinet from the 1990s finds at the famed Bunker Hill Mine. Two striking projecting clusters of larger third generation barrels dominate the skyline. These highly lustrous translucent prisms reach 1.2 cm. The upper one-third of the plate is covered with second generation crystals that reach about 7 mm. The rest of the plate is carpeted with first generation microcrystals. The first and second generation prisms really sparkle in bright light. Overall the piece is in great shape for all the crystal density. A tiny bit of bruising is noted in the middle of the second generation crystals and a bruised crystal is noted on the periphery of the large crystal cluster on the right side of the piece. This world-class pyromorphite mine has produced a wide variety of colors, crystal forms and styles and this is a rich and excellent example of this multi-generational varietal from the Bob Reynolds Collection, valued at $2000-ish. Bob is a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum.
