Item Description

Two generations of olive-green, lustrous, moderately translucent, textbook hexagonal pyromorphite barrels strikingly carpet the sculptural triangular small cabinet matrix. The large 2nd generation prisms dramatically dominate the upper half of the piece. These crystals, to 1.2 cm, are aesthetically clustered with some being doubly terminated or having hoppered terminations. The specimen is from the 1995 find at this ancient silver-lead mining district, worked intermittently since Roman times. Few specimens have come out since. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. Rich and excellent pyromorphite from this locale.
