Item Description

Three generations of pyromorphite crystals richly cover one face and cascade down another on the sculptural large silicified matrix on this combination rarity from the famous Les Farges Mine. A striking 2.5 cm cluster of lustrous, tapered oil-green spindles with hoppered terminations and nearby scattered, isolated spindles, to 1.1 cm are richly flanked by variable brown spindles and hexagonal prisms, to 1.0 cm. A RARE accessory are two clusters of Smoky Quartz crystals, to 1.0 cm. 600 grams or 1.3 pounds mass. This world-class pyromorphite locale was only open from 1975 to 1981 and is renowned for the wide variety of crystal habits and colors. Ex Paul Zerfass Collection No. 145. A showy and rich large multi-generational pyromorphite with rare smoky quartz from the noted locale.
