Pyromorphite

Sharp, lustrous, translucent, olive-green, textbook hexagonal pyromorphite barrels, to 6 mm, are richly and attractively festooned on the sculptural large matrix plate. This showy and rich piece is from an extinct, less well-known Spanish lead mine. Large and showy for a Spanish pyro, with good provenance: Ex Raul Sanabria Orellana Collection, a well-known Spanish collector and author. He is the co-author of the excellent recent 2024 Mineralogical Record Berbes, Spain article in Vol 55, No 1 and co-author of the 2021 Mineralogical Record article on the Aliva Mining District, Spain Vol. 52, No. 4. Excellent and rich large pyromorphite with well-formed crystals from the locale.
